Default How to use Pc Editor:

PC Editor loading a channel list (dat file) for spacestar..

PC Editor is not without its quarks but it works and in this application is well suited for use with the spacestar.

If you try using Channel Master and simply export an existing channel list the EPG function may NOT work.

Before flashing your reciever you should "Reset(Factor Default)" (Clear the channel list and satellite and tp settings)

To do this with the remote.
"Menu" "Installation" "OK" (Enter Password - default 0000) "Installation" "Reset(Factor Default)"

How to use Pc Editor:

1) Attach Null Modem Cable to the COM port of your computer and to the port of your SpaceStar receiver (note which COM port you are using
- COM 1, COM 2, etc.)

2) Start application (PC Editor)

3) Click "File" on the menu bar

4) Open the dat file you wish to use [Legacy or DP one if using a dp lnbf)(using the browse feature)]. (put your channel list in the PCEditor folder makes the list easier to find)

5) Load the file by clicking the "Open" button (after doing so the channel list will open in Pc Editor)

6) Adjust your COM setting to the one appropriate (the one you noted previously in step 1) using "Connect" and the "Serial Settings" from the menu bar

7) Download your channel list by clicking the "Connect" from the menu bar and then "Download Data" (A progress bar will appear as a pop-up.. DO NOT REMOVE THE CABLE WHILE ITS DOWLOADING.)

8) You now need to set the DiseQc settings
If using a DP lnb then 119 will be port 1 and 110 will be port 2.
If using a Legacy refer to your DiseQc switch for the proper port number.

To Access the DiseQc setting for the 119 and 110 simply Click:
"Menu" "Installation" "OK" (Enter Password - default 0000) "Search Programs"
Edit the settings for Echostar 6,8 (110) then go back to the top and "right" arrow to Echostar 7 (119)
When finished simply "Exit" via remote

The channels should now work If they don't move to a few different channels, for they sometimes take a minute to adjust. If they still dont come, in check your DiseQc settings and repeat step 8

Charlie changes channel all the time and some may be missing.
You may have to scan for your local spot beam unless you were lucky to get a list in your beam..
