118.7 Anik-F3, How do I get it?
118.7 Anik-F3, How do I get it?
................................................
Here is in General an idea, as to what you need and how to get the 118.75
Q: Can I use a Linear lnb?
A: You can NOT use a standard linear LNB with 118.75 (119k)? 118.75 is NOT a linear satellite, but circular satellite.
Q: Can you use a circular LNB to get 118.75?
A: NO.
Q:Why not?
A: Because it transmits at the lower LINEAR frequency band (out of range for a standard circular LNB ).
.............................................
Q: I don't have sat Anik F3, sat info in my menu!
A:.................
If you don't have the sat info for 118 then use anything that you most likely don't need, or never use like Echo 3? 4? 5? 6 whatever, if you have the right lnb and dish size, and you aim there 118 and 119, and blind scan your Echo ?6 (Use echo 6 for example but use blind scan , then rename that sat to 118, or use another channel/sat list) ...try it..or use a regular lnb to get 119 then replace the lnb with the proper one, then scan 118...
.................................................. .
if quality is red it means you are not there..try getting all skews and long. lat. right and re aim until you have the green bar in menu and strong quality signal.
SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
trying to replace 121w?...
Using a 30-inch or larger dish, aim with the following settings:
Satellite Name: 118°W (Anik F3)
LNB Type: Standard (or Single)
LO Frequency: 10750 or 10600 MHz
Finally, do an AUTO SCAN (if you do have this sat in your menu) or a BLIND SCAN if you use another sat.
If there are any missing any channels, then manually scan them in following the channel list at Lyngsat.com ...........
if you do need this special lnb: The name of it is Circular Dual LNB CB2008It is for circular polarity satellites and it is a wide band LNB 11.7-12.75ghz, so can get 118w TPs as well as 119w TPs at the same time, if using a 30" dish, 118w is still a lower powered sat.
They cost about $15-$25
It's a brand new Ku Band Circular Dual output LNB with Dual polarization.
Ideal for all circular satellites, i.e. Echo star 3 (Dish 61.5), Echo star 6/8 (Dish 110), Echo star 7 (Dish 119), Anik-F3 (at 118.8°W), Echo 1/2 (Dish 148), All DTV, All B3v and other Circular Polarity satellites.
It's designed especially for catching 119 & 118.8 (Anik F3) at the same time using one such LNBSince it's a special LNB, make sure you set LNB frequency to 10.75, instead of regular 11.25 in the receiver menu.
It works with all FTA and regular satellite receivers

Hope this helps, some info in general has been used from other members to create this sticky, and any comments are welcome
