IKS vs bin

I apologise for the lame questions.

Why use a bin file when receiver does iks?

If I install 8psk, can I still watch standard def/mpeg2 channels?

u need the bin so that the rcvr can connect to the IKS/SUNS... and be able to watch both SD & HD

and if u have the module...u'll get DN HD ...BEV HD is available without module

with factory file on it... u'll only watch true FTA channels...
