NEWS BRIEFS: SES Happy with AMC-21 Launch
SES AMERICOM hailed Arianespace's effort to put its newest satellite, AMC-21, into geosynchronous transfer orbit. Rob Bednarek, president and CEO of the recently announced division SES AMERICOM-New Skies, called the launch a great achievement, and pointed out that ordering of the spacecraft in spring 2006 to its launch last week was accomplished in 27 months. AMC-21, which will be stationed at 125 degrees, will support Public Broadcasting Service and its local broadcast affiliates. The satellite will also be used for new applications such as maritime mobile broadband.
