I find that this site automatically marks all threads as read when I log out. I find this frustrating as sometimes I just pop in for a quick check.

Tonight I was auto logged out and I had to login again and all the threads were marked as read.

I have searched through the profiles and have not found anything that even comes close to turning this pain (feature) off. Anybody?

if you dont log out and just close the page when ever you come back to ARB you should be automaticly loged in buy if you log out it clears the cookies and remembers that you loged out just as it does remembering that you were loged in hope this helps...

I just close the page and you will auto log in when you come back

Just closing the page is not an option. I access this site from different computers and each one clears all the cookies when the browser closes. Cookies are only kept by session anyways.

It doesn't solve the issue of all threads being marked read on logout though.

You will have the same problem in any other sites. You log out, its cosidering you have see all. The best is if you folow the Adm. suggestion. Good luck.

To be honest with you, this and FTACHICKS are the only sites I have this problem with. Strange.

On all the other forums that I deal with, I have to manually mark the threads fully read if I want to have it that way. Until I signed up here, I have only experienced it on one forum and that was a user option.

I guess I will live with it and not deal with much discussion.

I logged in to check the forum for about 3 minutes. I had to go but when I logged back in, all threads are marked as read. Now I have no idea what threads I have read and what threads I have not.

This is useless and one reason I don't keep coming to this site as this is one of the few sites that does this.

I have not seen anyway of changing this in my profile.

When you log out of our site it clears cookies. If you do not log out and just close the window it will not do that.

well my friend this is not the only site that does this its in the script of the program.
Now as far as you not wanting to come to the site don't ya think thats a little harsh.
we are a good community here and ya have to be nice bro or ya wont be allowed back on the site.
I'm not gona have people on here bashing my site over some dumb shit weather it be on my end or yours so please be nice bro and anything you need will be dealt with but any problems will be too....

I have not visited this site for a few months and received a message to come back.

I logged in for a few minutes to look and I had to log out. I logged back in a few minutes later and there were no unread posts. On logging out all posts were marked as read. How do I change this default procedure.

This is why I don't visit this site because I can never leave and come back and continue where I left off.

If I cannot change this procedure, then cancel my account.
